In order to celebrate victory in the 2003 German Touring Car Championship, Mercedes-Benz introduced the CLK DTM AMG. Powered by a supercharged V8 engine, the DTM was a performance powerhouse available in Coupé or Convertible body styles. One of the most special cars in the CLK range, the DTM saw only 180 examples built (100 Coupé, 80 Convertible).
Built for the European market only, the Coupé version was produced for the 2004 model year and the Convertible version made for the 2006 model year. The DTM was a supercharged 5,439 cc V8 engine rated at (582 PS) 574 bhp and 800 N⋅m (590 lb⋅ft) of torque, channeled through a Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic transmission to the rear wheels. The DTM is capable of a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph), weighing 1,742 kg (3,840 lb), and goes from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.9 seconds.
